3. Description of the service
Rent Direct Hub is an online property marketplace and landlord-management hub launching in East London, Eastern Cape, with planned national expansion. Landlords register, advertise properties and manage their own listings. Tenants search listings free of charge and contact landlords directly by WhatsApp, phone or email — no tenant account is required. We also operate a directory of property service providers.
Rent Direct Hub is not an estate agency and does not act as a rental agent, letting agent or managing agent. We are not a party to any lease or agreement concluded between a landlord and a tenant.
4. Prices, payment and transaction terms
Paid advertising is charged in South African Rand and is displayed inclusive of any applicable amounts before you confirm an order. Card payments are processed by Paystack, an independent third-party payment processor. Rent Direct Hub never receives or stores your full card number or card security code.
- Current pricing: R99 per month per landlord property advert, and R299 per month for the small business marketing platform.
- Payment methods: South African debit and credit cards, processed in Rand by Paystack.
- Manner of payment and time for performance: payment is made online before the advert is activated, and the advert is published for the paid period once payment is confirmed.
- All prices, applicable VAT and any additional costs will be displayed clearly before you confirm any transaction.
5. Transaction records
Where a paid service is purchased, an electronic record of the transaction (including the terms accepted, the amount and the date) will be issued to you and retained by us for the period required by law. You will be given an opportunity to review, correct or withdraw from the order before final confirmation, as required by section 43(2) of ECTA.
6. Refunds, cancellations and cooling-off
Our refund and cancellation policy is set out in the Payments & Advertising terms. Where section 44 of ECTA applies to an electronic transaction, a consumer may cancel within seven days without reason or penalty, subject to the exclusions in that section. Rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are not limited by this page.
7. Dispute resolution
Please contact us first at Rentdirecthub@hmrprop.co.za so we can resolve the matter. If it cannot be resolved, the parties may refer the dispute to mediation, or to a South African court with jurisdiction, as set out in our Terms & Conditions. Consumers may also approach the National Consumer Commission or an accredited alternative dispute-resolution agent where the Consumer Protection Act applies.
8. Security and privacy
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords and access-controlled databases. Any future card payments will be processed by a secure third-party payment processor, and Rent Direct Hub does not intend to store full card details.
