This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on Rent Direct Hub, how we obtain consent for optional cookies, and how you can change your choices at any time.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, which we use to remember your cookie choice, your saved properties and your signed-in landlord session. Some of this information may constitute personal information under POPIA, which is why we ask for consent before using optional categories.
2. Cookie categories we use
Strictly necessary Always on
Needed for the site to work: page routing, security, keeping a landlord signed in and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics & performance Off until you consent
Would help us understand which suburbs and listings tenants search for so we can improve the platform. Off until you allow it, and no analytics tool is installed yet.
Marketing & advertising Off until you consent
Would allow us to measure campaigns and show relevant Rent Direct Hub adverts elsewhere. Off until you allow it, and no advertising tool is installed yet.
Strictly necessary items currently include your cookie-consent record, your landlord authentication session and short-lived security tokens. No analytics or advertising tools are installed on the platform at this stage.
3. How consent works
- On your first visit a banner offers Accept all, Reject optional and Manage preferences.
- Optional analytics and marketing cookies are not set unless you actively allow them.
- Your choice, including the date and policy version, is stored on your own device.
- You may change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- Rejecting optional cookies does not limit your ability to browse properties or contact landlords.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of Rent Direct Hub — such as staying signed in as a landlord — from working correctly.
6. Third parties
Our hosting and database providers may set strictly necessary cookies or tokens to keep the service secure and available. Should we add analytics, advertising or embedded third-party content in future, this policy will be updated and those cookies will be placed in the optional categories above, requiring consent first.
